We’re delighted to share some exciting news from Vision Northumberland. We have welcomed Nathan Miller to our team as our new Digital Enablement Coordinator.
Nathan will be leading our Digital Enablement Service across Northumberland – work that’s all about helping people with sight loss feel more confident and independent when using digital technology. From staying connected with family and friends to accessing entertainment, information, and essential services, the digital world can open up so many possibilities. Nathan’s role will be to make those possibilities easier to reach.
A Message From Nathan
“I am really excited to be joining Vision Northumberland as Digital Enablement Coordinator. Supporting people to build confidence with technology is something I care deeply about, and I’m looking forward to helping people with sight loss discover tools and skills that can make everyday life more accessible and independent.
Over the past year in a previous role, I’d started exploring some of the assistive technology and accessibility tools that people use, and it’s been fascinating to see how quickly technology is evolving to support people with different needs.
I’m particularly looking forward to meeting the people Vision Northumberland supports, learning from their experiences, and working together to find practical ways technology can help improve confidence, connection and independence.
I’m excited to get started and be part of the fantastic work Vision Northumberland does across the county.”
What Will the Digital Enablement Service Offer?
Our service provides friendly, accessible support through:
* One‑to‑one sessions
* Small group learning
* A focus on practical, everyday digital skills tailored to each person’s needs
Nathan will also be training and supporting a wonderful team of volunteers, Digital Champions, and Peer Mentors. By sharing their knowledge and experience, they’ll help even more people in the sight loss community benefit from digital technology.
