New Monthly Drop‑ins at Adapt, Hexham – Come Along and Say Hello!

We’re delighted to share that Vision Northumberland will soon be hosting regular monthly drop‑ins at Adapt in Hexham. Whether you’re living with sight loss, hearing loss, or supporting someone who is, these open sessions are a warm and welcoming place to get advice, try equipment, and meet others.

Starting this spring, a member of our team will be available each month to answer questions, offer guidance, and help you navigate the everyday challenges that can come with losing some or all of your sight or hearing. There’s no need to book — just drop in, enjoy the friendly atmosphere, and stay for as long as you like.

And, of course, the café will be open! It’s the perfect chance to enjoy a cuppa, have a chat, and meet new people in a relaxed setting. Sometimes a change of scenery and a bit of company can make all the difference.

What to Expect at the First Sessions
For our first two drop‑ins, our Low Vision Team will be joining us. They’ll bring a selection of equipment you can try out, including magnifiers, lighting options, and other helpful tools designed to make daily life that little bit easier.

They’ll also be on hand to offer:
* Practical low vision advice
* Signposting to further support
* Information about managing everyday tasks
* Tips on making the most of your remaining vision

As we continue the drop‑ins, we’ll invite other Vision Northumberland services to join us too. If there’s something specific you’d love to see – such as help with technology, accessibility features on your devices, or hearing loss support – please let us know. We want these sessions to reflect what you find most helpful.
