Testimonials
B is a blind service user and has been a long standing client and member of the Activities Group. She is elderly and lives alone in rural Northumberland.
"I have been to places that I would not have been able to visit had it not been arranged by the group. It's lovely to have the chance to socialise as I live alone, so this is the only chance I get. The last trip to Beamish was fantastic. Wendy the volunteer took me for a walk and we had a ride on the trams and buses. Anthony a volunteer driver ensures that both Truffles my guide dog and I both have transport from my home and to and from the venues where the group meet for lunch. Our next outing we will all meet for Christmas lunch in Ashington, which I am very much looking forward to attending."
A is a new service user who attends the NCBA Craft Group. A has dual sensory loss and experiences loneliness and a loss of confidence since her hearing has deteriorated. She was reluctant to socialise.
"NCBA has helped me to get out and about, meet new people and make new friends. I have recently been attending the monthly craft group I feel my confidence and self-esteem have improved and I have learnt new creative skills, in a fun and friendly supportive environment."
