Our Low Vision Assessment Service (LVAS) can help people to make the most of their vision by supporting clients to gain the knowledge, confidence and skills needed to increase their independence.
This free, appointment-based service is delivered from our dedicated sensory hub as well as outreach venues across the county and, in exceptional circumstances, people’s homes.
During an appointment, our Low Vision Coordinator will offer a comprehensive assessment to understand your unique visual needs; discovering what works for YOU. They will discuss the challenges faced and equipment, aids and techniques that can help. Our service includes the opportunity to try a wide range of low vision equipment to see what can make the biggest difference in your daily life.
Vision Northumberland provide a comprehensive information and advice service, support with sourcing accessible equipment and signpost to additional services where needed.
